from 'Ten Imaginary Years':
On 18 March, The Cure played The Lakeside, Crawley, and Porl joined them onstage to play 'Cult Hero' as an encore. Five days later, supporting The Passions at The Marquee, The Cult Hero band played its one and only real gig. With one day's rehearsal at Robert's house, the band, comprising The Cure, Frank Bell, two schoolgirl backing vocalists and an awful lot of alcohol, played a set based on a Top Ten from 1973 that Robert had taped from one of Jimmy Saville's Sunday radio programmes.

Robert: "We played Gary Glitter's 'Do Ya Wanna Touch?', Thin Lizzy's 'Whiskey In The Jar', Sweet's 'Blockbuster', something by T Rex, a David Cassidy number, something else by the Detroit Spinners ..."
"It was a great night, The Cure wrecking crew came along, about 400 from Crawley and Horley, and they all sang along ..."
from 'A Visual Documentary':
23 MARCH 1980
The Cult Heroes play their first, and only gig, supporting The Passions at the Marquee. Robert, Lol, Matthieu and Simon are joined by Porl, postman Frank and two Schoolgirls. Apart from both sides of the single, the band's set comprises the complete Top 10 of five years previous: 'Do You Wanna Touch Me', 'Blockbuster', 'Whiskey In The Jar', '20th Century Boy', 'Cindy Incidentally', 'Part Of The Union', 'Feel The Need In Me', 'Hello Hooray' ...
