from 'Ten Imaginary Years'
Robert was doing ... ... LP. On 3 and 4 of April, he also played guitar at the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park as a member of The Stranglers. Their singer, Hugh Cornwell, had been busted and imprisoned and an all-star band was assembled to play in protest.
Robert: "I was in the studio with Bill Mackenzie and I arrived at the Rainbow late. I did some keyboards but what I distinctly remember was being in a room backstage having a bizarre conversation with JJ Burnell and Steve Hillage about European cabbages. The whole thing was very naive in a way, but very nice."
